Cooper Tire Europe launches all-terrain, all-season Cooper Discoverer® A/T3 Sport 2™

MELKSHAM, UK, MAY 7, 2020 – Cooper Tire Europe has expanded its product offering with the launch of a new all-terrain, all-season tire – the Cooper Discoverer® A/T3 Sport 2™. Made for 4x4s and SUVs, the tire offers an effective balance between on-road stability and off-road capability. It is also ready to tackle all seasons, with 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake) and M+S (Mud and Snow) ratings for harsh winter conditions and slippery surfaces.

Established in the United States, and supported by research and development across Europe, Cooper’s 4x4 and SUV product range includes tires for a variety of conditions, from muddy fields to rocky surfaces and baking heat to extreme wet weather. By introducing the A/T³ Sport 2™, the manufacturer will cater for the aforementioned environments in one tire.

Standout features of the A/T³ Sport 2™ include a new tread compound that contributes to a 3% improvement in wet grip, as well as an upgraded EU label grade of ‘C’ for wet braking – when compared to its predecessor – the Cooper Discoverer^® A/T³ Sport™. Meanwhile, a robust tread design and new compound technology provide enhanced cut and chip resistance. Cooper achieved these gains following an extensive testing programme at the MIRA Technology Park in the UK and the dedicated Cooper Tire & Vehicle Test Center in Texas, USA.

In addition to improved wet grip and cut and chip resistance, the A/T³ Sport 2™ offers increased sidewall protection. A new compound guards against the effects of ozone and UV degradation, while a non-staining sidewall protects the white lettering from discolouration – meaning the tire will not only perform well, but also look the part, throughout its lifetime.

Designed to deliver whatever the weather, the tire boasts an EU label grade of ‘B’ for wet braking, as lateral 3D siping and grooves evacuate water more effectively. The latest all-season silica and resin technology ensure that the tire generates grip over a wide temperature range, and an advanced compound construction delivers an even footprint for superior wear results.
